"Elliot," Tucker whispered, breaking contact for a moment. The heat of his breath was against Elliot's face, hypnotizing, bewildering. His mouth touched Elliot's again, and Elliot could feel his name - and a question - formed against his skin. Just that. Just Elliot?....
"Are you fucking out of your mind?..... what the hell's the matter with you?"
"You're what's the matter with me," he cried. "Why did you have to come back?"

"I can't figure out where you put all that," Tucker observed. "You eat like a horse."

He'd known it would be sweet, but this was almost unbearable, his heart swelling with so much... feeling for Will. Such a terrible tenderness and longing and ... love.

That dawn kiss beneath the pine trees rippled through him like an electric shock, a reminder that, tired, wet, and lost as they might be, so long as they were together, they were all right.

His glance slid my way. "You know this won't be an easy thing, Adrien."
"The investigation you mean?"
"No." He gave me that crooked smile. "No, I don't mean that."
... despite myself I started to smile.

"I don't want you that way," he said. "I know you. It wouldn't be the same."
Swell. He preferred humiliating strange men in costume to kissing a man he knew. And presumably liked.

"Why can't you say it?" I hardened my voice. "Because I'm telling you, you never have. I'd have remembered."
He stared at me with disbelief . . . .
"Love you? Of course I love you. Baby, I fucking worship you."

I thought maybe I didn't need to worry about my heart anymore because it had stopped beating a couple of seconds earlier, and I was still sitting there living and breathing - though admittedly I wasn't feeling much of anything.

"Adrien..."
I smiled. "I know."
But I didnt, because what he said was, "I want you in my life - you can set the parameters."

How did that work for someone as sensitive and intelligent as Brett?

He could have hugged Rafferty, but then he'd been feeling that way from the minute he'd first laid eyes on him.

If Rafferty had been a man given to blushing, he'd have blushed then. He couldn't quite get a handle on Brett Sheridan. At times he seemed bolder than brass and at other moments, as shy as a young girl.

Brett looked up, and just for an instant, his face was soft and unguarded. "From the minute I saw you."

"I don't want to get rough with the monkey," Rafferty warned him..... "Get it. and don't try any funny business."
Maybe the monkey misunderstood and heard monkey business...

Any of you that can read those quotes, who haven't read the books, without getting carpel tunnel syndrome from the rapid pressing of 1-click, are stronger than me! Swede and FLF started laying those quotes on me some time back, and I have been hooked ever since! Josh's stories are the best!

Wow, Swede, thanks for all of the quotes. I finished the Adrien English series a few days ago and I'm still on a bit of a Jake and Adrien high. After reading your quotes, I think I'm going to pick up Fair Game next.

I seriously could have gone on and on and on and on ..... Got quite swept away with Fair Game, H&M and then This Rough Magic - almost feel like I haven't done justice to the others and so wish I had of had the time to put some Snowball in Hell quotes up ... it makes me want to go back and read them all again! May in fact sneak a few more Will and Tay bits in

And whilst I have none listed from Strange Fortune - there are a couple of my favourite lines in that book! I loved how Valentine called Aleister Master Sticks and Stones; and a quote that I will always think of when I look back on these books ....
