| starbrites, you ain't seen nothing yet. At first his bossiness kinda irritated me but then after a while I found it kinda funny. Almost endearing later on b/c he knows how Ana is gonna respond to his bossiness. | |

| I was watching something I DVR'd about FSOG & my husband was walking through to the kitchen. He stopped when he heard "FIFTY SHADES OF GREY" & watched for a minute. Then he said "Why are those books so popular?" I leaned over & picked them up off the end table & said "You want to read them & find out?" His eyes got huge & he said "You've read them?" I said "Of course I have." He said 'It's porn. I didn't think you read porn." I explained that they were not porn & why people said that and typical man replied 'Why don't you just read me the good parts?" I didn't read to him but I've been trying to get him to read them. I can tell he wants to. | |

| E-mails are great! Those and some texts later on. I love, love her "subconscious" and her "inner goddess". They are always telling her different things...! RC....! If your husband reads these books you have got to give us a detailed, play by play of his reactions! I am still tickled about when you told them you wouldn't cook! | |

| Oh if I can get him to read them yall will hear about it. When I was reading them the first time (when I told him I wasn't cooking) it was on my Kindle so he didn't know that's what I was reading. But yes, the look on his face when I told him to go get something was priceless. Now, to be honest I really don't cook that much anyway but that probably was the first time I didn't cook b/c I couldn't put a book down. He just said "Well, that must be a good book." I said "You have no idea." | |

| RC-- Is your husband a reader? Is there any chance that he might pick up these books and read them? It would be awesome if he did and you could get him to post! | |

| I'm hopelessly hooked! 50 shades has stolen me and I think I got my groove back! 50 Wow! 75% now and can't put that damn thing down. I didn't expect this book to be so funny but every time I turn around I'm laughing my ass off at something. Grey is so bossy and his mood shifts bug me but only because I hate not knowing what the man is thinking. I want to know why he doesn't like to be touched and why he's so different from Elliott and Mia. There so happy and carefree. I hate Mrs. Robinson even though I haven't actually met her yet. I just know she's going to be a problem. Ok, back to reading. | |

| starbrites is loving 50 Shades I knew it! I knew you would love this book if you could just get past the early part! Their e-mails and her snarky inner voices made me laugh all the way through, and this is a serious, serious story! Was "the contract" the most disturbing thing you have ever read? I almost stopped reading right there! Thinking is she thinking? Then, thanks to RC, I started seeing how young and inexperienced she is, and how totally overwhelmed by this glorious Adonis! It took me longer to figure out some other things. It is a little difficult when in one person's head all the time to pick up clues by what she's thinking and what she won't think about. This story is so complex, we could talk about it from now on. Ana signed that damn NDA and couldn't talk to anyone about what was going on, and she didn't want to lose him. Can you imagine a young, inexperienced girl being seduced by a man with his sexual skills? Of course she was hooked. From the first time. | |

| Starbrites ~~ YAY!! I'm so glad you are enjoying Miss Steele & Mr. Grey's emotional, complicated, amazing little love story. I was the same way as shay2 in that I almost stopped reading it a couple of times. But after I got past that one part at the end of book 1 (that was very disturbing to me & I didn't know if I would ever like Christian again) I devoured the books. Shay2 ~~ He reads but only sports related stuff. I can tell he's curious about FSOG though. He has never even paid attention to what I'm reading. But I guess having heard so much talk about this series has made him curious. I don't know if he'll read it or not but if he does I will make sure I get him to post or I will post some quotes by him. | |

| Swede..! Thank you! The book page is great. I read an article, one of many I have read about this series, that said that the sale of grey, silk ties has skyrocketed! Whether they use them the same way a Christian and Ana, it seems that every woman who has read the story is getting one for her guy. Get the look, even if you don't play the "kinky fuckery" games. ETA: Swede, I know this isn't your favorite type of book, but I really do think you will at least enjoy the read. I certainly don't think you will fall head-over-heels into this story the way I have, but I still think you would at least have fun with it. And, I would love to hear your brilliantly snarky comments.....even the negative ones. | |

| All the good books get banned. They probably have no problem stocking Anita Blake books in their libraries, though. | |

| I read a comment by someone that lives there & she said they have all the books by Zane on their shelves. I had never heard of Zane so I looked on Amazon. I'd say that compared to Zane's books FSOG is PG-13! | |

ETA: Didn't Josh write fanfic for a while? And I know there are others but I can't think who. I remember that LB Gregg wrote a blog for a long time. | |

| So my day is finally calming down and I wanted to talk about the book just a bit. 50 I am into book 3 and Jack had just been caught in there apartment and Grey has come back from NY and he is so pissed at Ana. He says he wants to beat the shit out of her. She leaves for work and when she gets home he is in his red room of pain pants and honest I had to stop for a bit. Is it weird that I am a little scared that he will beat her? I really like the books but his ways have me a tad scared. Her seeing him in those pants and his comment of wanting to beat her has put my brain on double time. It feels like abuse to me and it's put me off. Ya, I know it's just a book but i'm a little creeped out. Of course I will keep going but honestly I really needed to get that off my chest cause it was bugging the hell out of me. It seems so stupid to be this wired over a book but I am. | |
