| This just plain hurts to say, but I couldn't finish To Catch a Fox by Ethan Day and Geoff Knight. The typos and grammar mistakes are bad enough to be distracting, but on top of that I just didn't get the humor. I know there were scenes that were intended to be funny, but instead just came across as annoying. The dialogue was disjointed and I often couldn't figure out what the conversation was about. I called Uncle and shelved it about 30% in. I adore every other Ethan Day book I've read, so I'm guessing that the Day/Knight duo simply doesn't work for me. Anyone else read this one? It's getting stellar reviews, so maybe I'm just nitpicky. I need to read something that I know will be quality shit now. Maybe some Gabaldon. | |
