Have you started it yet? I'm torn between Gunmetal Magic and Sherrilyn Kenyon's The Guardian. Buddy reads always win, though.

Haven't started yet, I can wait still have a pile to read and I'm on holiday for a week so pumping through the books. (Middle of winter here remember not much else to do apart from Housework ugh)

I finished Gunmetal Magic last night and I enjoyed it. I liked Andrea and Rafael's story.

I loved, loved the purple carpet. Funny stuff. I was trying to figure out how she would get him back and Ilona Andrews didn't let me down. Their books move so fast. Roman turned out to be a great character and he definitely makes a great addition to Kate's world. I don't remember him that well from the last book. My only little critique would be that the book felt a bit short, but that's probably a good thing. It left me wanting more.

I know that I've read the Kate and Curran short at the end before, but I don't remember where.

Anybody else finish?

It was. I loved this books as well. I love Andrews sense of humour. It was really nice to read about Andrea, she is one of my favourite character apart from Kate.

I was really looking forward to these two finally getting together and this book did not disappoint. I just love their writing style.

Are the Edge books just as good?

I just started Gunmetal Magic last night. avaoiding the shining stars until after I finish. Hopefully it is a good one. Not sure I like reading from Andrea's POV and I am hating Raphael at the moment.

Yeah, Raphael ticked me off in parts of this book. But at least there's a little bit of Curran in it. I just love that beast.

I loved Gunmetal Magic - I didn't think I would because I've never been much of an Andrea fan.
I loved Andrea though, her childhood seemed worse than Kate's. I wish they'd been more of Kate though, I know it was Andrea's book but her interactions with Kate were the best part of the book for me.
I hated Raphael though - he didn't win me around at the end. He was such a spoilt, selfish whiny baby. Andrea deserved better - I didn't buy Raphael's love for Andrea, I felt it was more because she was a challenge that he liked her. I wishe she'd ended up with Roman.

I would love a Roman POV.

I hope i didn't spoil anything in my post..I've edited to add spoiler stars. Anyway there isn't a love triangle with Roman/Andrea/Raphael. It's definitely all about Andrea and Raphael.

No worries. It's not like a you had to be a genious to figure out that a trioangle was being set up. I like Roman. He's kinda funny...almost Harry Dresden-ish. Just not for Andrea. I just got to the part with the three of them facing an enemy.

I love Roman
I used to think Raphael was ok but now I hate Raphael, he was just a spoilt brat and he didn't deserve Andrea.

There was a vote on Ilona's blog a while back about whether readers wanted more of Roman and the majority voted yes. I think Roman may get a novella or something..I can't think of anyone for his leading lady though.. I think it'll probably be someone new.

Well Andrea grew on me, but I took the opposite side from most. I loved Raphael after forgiving him for the blonde bimbo and wanted to kick Andrea in the teeth most of the book. I thought Raphael was doing all the right things and motions and Andrea was the fool. I mean after knowing how much it hurt to see the blonde bimbo (I feel like I want to type Leghair here), she goes and tries out a kiss with my new favorite secondary character Roman. I mean that was almost like tit for tat...i don't buy that she was trying a new relationship. Whether she realized it or not, her purple shagging of Rafael's apartment was her claiming him like he did her apartment. I did wind up liking the book a lot and I felt like i read the short before (or at least part) also. I hope we see a Roman focused book one day and I would love to see if Rafael finds out about the kiss, though I don't want Raf hurt but I feel Andrea should not get away so easy with that stupid move.

An Apple for the Creature
So I only read the story by Ilona Andrews in this book. It was so good. It's from Julie's POV and to see what she thinks about Kate and Curran is wonderful.

There is a student at a school that goes missing and Kate tricks her into attending the school to look for this girl. It's typical Kate behavior - very funny.

Anyway, I hope we see one of the side characters in the future. I don't want to say who or why in case others have not read this story yet. Because it has to do with the ending. But I'm really interested in this person.

I just couldn't seem to fork out $15 for kate Daniels and a Sookie story when I'm sure that they all will show up later as single stories...wait isn't there a Faith Hunter one also? maybe it is worth it.

Ok, you talked me into it...I saw there is Rick LeFleur POV for Faith Hunter and that sold me along with your review of Julie's story (Ilona Andrews).
