| So gutted I missed the chat. The one day my Internet service decides to crash and couldn't get up and running till lunch time, and the Internet cafe isn't open on Sundays so couldn't even sneak down there. Sounds like everyone had a good time and I'm sure someone will fill me in at some stage | |

| How did you get on with finishing your story, Daniel? Not that we are eager to read it. Or anything No pressure. I know I was sooo tired yesterday. Alcohol with brekkie does that | |

| 40% into Gravitational Attraction by Angel Martinez. It is good! Scifi is not something that I have ever read - but this is "outer" my usual space completely! And really really good! | |

| Lol, I was contemplating downloading it... but I'm just very busy at the moment. I'm completely rewriting Jacinto's Voyage in third person, which is what it was originally in until I change my mind and went with first person. But something just didn't feel right about it. Changing it into third person has completely fixed that. Got until the end of the month to get the final thing submitted, so as you can imagine I'm writing like a madman! | |

| First person is I. Second person is you. Third person is he/she/it. | |

| And then isn't there a other one? Something about 3rd person present tense? Or something ? Does anyone ever write in 2nd person ... Seriously , I sound stupid I'm not dumb per se ... More oblivious maybe | |

| Second person is usually reserved to the kinda stories where you make the decisions as you go through the book.
You can have present and past tense in any of the point of views... just as long as it sticks with one tense the whole way through.
And then there are different kinds of third person as well. Third person omniscient lets you get inside everyone's heads. Third person limited sticks within one person's head, or a very limited few.
Third person limited past tense is the most common, and the style I'm going for now in Jacinto's Voyage. | |

| I managed to sneak onto an unsecured network. Go me! At my new flat now, and loving it. So much peace and quiet, and privacy. Lots of time to get some writing done when I'm not at work. Unfortunately don't have my own internet until the 15th (hopefully, because that's when the guy is coming round to see about installing it). I eventually managed to get my short story finished. Well, I say finished, but I'm waiting on one of my betas before I do the final edits and submit it. Had a go at writing the blurb for it and put it up on GR http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13635199-jacinto-s-voyageMight have to play with the blurb a bit more though, trying to get it to properly reflect the story, which is mostly light sci-fi with a nice little helping of sex and not-quite-romance. I say not quite because it's more lust than love. Anyway, I should go sleep. It's 4:30am and I do need to go to the shops sometime tomorrow. Hopefully when I wake up I'll still be able to sneak onto this network. Going another week without the internet sure would suck. | |

| And Jacinto's Voyage is finished! Now I get to work on The Back Door a little until I'm ready to edit the second Daeva book. Hopefully this time I won't procrastinate until right before the deadline and then end up rushing like a madman again. | |
