| The Elegant Corpse - A.M.Riley Geography of Murder Series - P.A.Brown Duck! - Kim Dare Rawlings Men - Kim Dare A Strong Hand - Catt Ford Out of the Woods series - Syd McGinley The Strongest Shape - Tessa Cardenas Goldilocks and his Three Bears - AM Riley The Cowboy Poet - Claire Thompson Nowhere Ranch - Heidi Cullinan Deviations - Jodi Payne/Chris Owens A lot of the m/m books have a small amount of D/s in them, even if it is just a Daddy kink. But some of these books really deal with BDSM as a lifestyle. The Elegant Corpse is a very good book as an opening into reading this genre. Again, this is just a very small sample of what is available. Kim Dare has a huge amount of books - covering vamps and shifters - but always with an element of BDSM. So be sure to check out the authors web sites for other books.

| I am halfway through the Rawlings Men series... and keep getting distracted by the next new, shiny book. Yes..we all know who is to blame! Patrick! Some of the best books I read last year are in this genre - namely The Elegant Corpse, A Strong Hand, Duck! and The Geography of Murder Series where the whole BDSM as a lifestyle actually was understandable, and in fact, a beautiful relationship. | |

| Honestly 2shay, of the books listed the Deviations ones by Payne and Owens I wouldn't recommend. I found them to be too much in terms of sex (yeah, I said that) and the characters didn't stay true to themselves by the end of the series. Of the books listed there my favorites were probably The Elegant Corpse and A Strong Hand. Both had some kink but incredibly loving and tender relationships. The Elegant Corpse was also just a darn good mystery. | |

| Yeah Derby was pretty adorable, and Ed was no slacker either he's my favorite Rawlings so far. But Willis from book 2 just broke my heart..... I wanted to give him a big hug! | |

| When I started book 2 I didn't realize it was a different Rawlings man. I was so upset he was out getting a bj at a glory hole! Then came the big reveal and I was thinking, "Oh, nevermind." | |

| Shay I loved the first 2 Deviation books ..... Wish I hadn't bothered with 3,4,5. Geography of Murder and it's sequel are 2 of my favourite reads, ever! | |

| Ya'll know I will probably try them all. I am not beyond laying a book down if it doesn't suit me. But...ahem...Swede....Dark Horse was so wonderful that I won't be saying no to much for a while. | |

| And a good reviewer Shay, we know if you like it the rest of us will to. Not sure about this genre, not something I understand but hey has that stopped me reading the stuff you guys recommend before? I think not. | |

| Elegant Corpse ... My abiding memories are of the way Roger takes Sean's hand as he is about to chew his nails while watching that scene; the swearing lol; the nipple ring and the eating peanut butter out of the jar! And I must admit everytime I see a redhead now, with that pale skin I think of these 2 guys ..... I really want to reread... | |

| 44% into the book now, Greencat, and I don't understand it either. But, except for that first "scene", nothing has made me slam my kindle shut. I am enjoying the characters. I think the author is trying to make a point here about domestic abuse? Versus Dom/sub relationships? Not sure. It may be something else entirely. The Elegant Corpse ETA: the "scene" that Swede was talking about where Roger reached for Sean's hand was disturbing. I don't understand why anyone would WATCH someone being artfully whipped much less participate...but I am trying to get in their heads enough to understand. | |

| Swede, I have already seen that protective streak in Roger. I really like Mary Anne. And the case they're working is WAY good. | |

| It really is a great book. All round. There is just one thing that always bemused me ... But I won't say, yet. This was the first book that really clicked with me, re bdsm. When I read the V bits of his various activities I never found it particularly interesting, more just "ouch" and I think I prefer this take on it, as opposed to the person craving at as a punishment that they think they deserve, which is possibly cliche. Since this book I have read quite a few more, and I think V is the only protag that is doing it as self punishment or loathing, as opposed to a healthy kink | |
