There was a lot of that in the series (and even more in the side series) that Blood Ties was based on. The books were by Tanya Huff. They were worth a read but not my favorite.

Currently reading Camp Hell from the PsyCops series. These are brilliant! Thanks for the recommendation, Swede smile The characters are so well written, you feel like you know them for real, very realistic. Each story just draws you in (almost typed 'sucks you in' and thought maybe I should rephrase that! LOL) and you just can't put the book (or kindle) down. Will definitely be checking out the Channeling Morpheous/Sweet Oblivion books, too. And Adrien English is on the TBR list. Gotta read River Marked first.

Yeah. I work weekends, so I missed it  Transcript would be excellent! Should I wait until I've finished GhosTV to read it? I downloaded it so it would be waiting for me after I've finished Camp Hell! I saw on one of the thread here that there's a couple of character interviews as well?

Good to know, I'll make sure that the series doesn't slip down the TBR pile, then :D

Okay, I want to add the Channeling Morpheus books to my amazon wishlist, so I can just download them when I'm ready. What's their order?

Payback, Vertigo, Manikin, Tainted, Rebirth - Channeling Morpheus are read first in this order, then
Brazen, Snare, Fluid, Swarm, Elixir - Sweet Oblivion is to be read next in this order.
so 10 books in total

Ooooh, I didn't realize the Channeling Morpheus books had vamps. I do love my vamps. smile

I picked up How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks. (Kindle freebie!). Campy and fun! A couple parts of it were almost too corny to read without eye-rolling, but I think that was intentional so I rolled with it.
I have seen a lot of online talk about the broken fang / blood doll bit - now I know why it comes up on message boards so much. Too funny! I knew at "Thit!" that this book was going to be fun.

Yay! Let me know when you finish so I can stop biting my tongue on all the stuff I've wanted to discuss. Wink
Darynda has posted a free short you might want to read when you finish. I'd use it to pimp FGOTR, but it contains a major spoiler. I'll post the link if/when you want it.

It is...inspiring, isn't it?
But in the interest of full disclosure:
FGOTR, imo, is more urban fantasy than paranormal romance. There is some smexy, but I wouldn't consider it the main thrust (heehee) of the book. More like a delicious addition to the plot and comedy.

Okay I'm just going to co-pimp First Grave on the Right. It was soooo good. I finished last night and kept thinking about the possibilities long after. I woke up thinking about it again. It's a quick, funny, original and smexy book. I can't wait until the next one. bounce Thanks again Dopple!!

cheers

You read 100 pages last night? Wow! I'll send you the link to Darynda's freebie short when I get home tonight.

I gave FGOTR a 5-star rating on goodreads, and right after I posted my review Darynda sent me a goodreads friend request! I had a fangirl moment, then I realized that Darynda read my review and I got ubercritical of the what I wrote. Glad I only had good things to say!

I Just downloaded the Audio version of FGOTR. It was a little futher down in my TBR pile but all the pimpage made me move it up. I'll start it as soon as I finish my re-read of Dead in the Family.

It is really good. It made me a little obsessive about it which I love. I was thinking last night that it is my 3rd favorite book I read this year. Shadowfever, Pale Demon then First Grave on the Right. Very early in 2011, things can always change. :study:

Here's the link to that free short story by Darynda Jones. DO NOT READ if you haven't finished FGOTR. There's a big spoiler in it. Darynda switched the POV of the story to that of the ghost, so you get to see Charley's antics from the ghost's perspective. :affraid:

For I Have Sinned by Darynda Jones

You have to register with Heroes and Heartbreakers to read it. It's free (and worth it).
