Keep reading! But it's a perfectly serviceable theory.

I don't like to read sad books. That's just how I am. If there is crying involved I shy away. Now I'm reconsidering this one. I own it. I'll be honest, I want to read the couch sex scene if it's that hot smile

The couch scene was pretty hot...Oh and I forgot a great line from the 1st chapter something like "It's only a skirt if you wear underwear". Gosh it's official. I am a kilt chaser (get it skirt chaser kilt chaser). This book is really sad. I hope it gets a happy ending. I am having a really bad 2 days and this books isn't helping any. It's only displacing my sadness for Griff's temporarily and he is as lonely as me.

Oh and one more thing. The whole 911 thing I remember so much of that living on Long Island and now getting in touch with my family and friends and not knowing what is going on. And it was weird a few years later I was at this training class and this small plane flew right by the building and then crashed and you felt in and people were freaking and I just stayed where I was saying if it's fate then it's fate and accepting things. It was so surreal. And then my husband was in my ear on my cell screaming at me to leave the city which I didn't. I feel like Griff did after 911. Like a big cloud. I do the motions but I'm not all there....not all myself. This book is hitting on a lot of stuff pretty well. And Dante is also affected he is just showing it by acting out.

star Hot Head star

So I finished...

Observations:

If Tommy obviously haunted the gay club in that he has in the alley when Griff went there, then why didn't the bartender or patrons recognize him?

Is Griff's dad getting dementia or altimzers? The planting flowers and asking about the Griff's wife had divorced 10 years ago? Or did he hear about or see the video and went nuts? I would have liked to see the struggle Griff would have with his dad and if this would finally make his dad show some love or send him reeling. That would have been an interesting struggle and a realistic one. His dad has a very biggoted side so it probably wouldn't have gone well, but you never know. Maybe after the initial reveal, he would shock us all.

I also would like to know or see the other firemen and how they react. Obviously it will be a mixed reaction but I would like to see who steps up to the plate and stands by them.

I liked that they befriended Tommy and it was sweet to bring him to the bar and try to make him feel like being gay was OK and you don't have to punish yourself for it, but it was risky to invite him for Thanksgiving when it was the first time his parents were seeing them as a couple face to face. But again it was sweet. What I don't get is why Dante told his dad and not his sister? Maybe she is too much personality and would have pushed too much?

Is this a series? I'd love to see this fragile new relationship blossom into more and though it is gonna hurt see all the struggles they will face.

I felt like some of the stuff turned into fairytale to good to be true. All of a sudden their financial worries are over when they meet the photographer? They go from being god's gifts to women to gay men overnight a little too easily. Maybe it was them both pining for the other secretly that had then preaccept everything? Or that they only loved each other so f everyone else? I just don't think it is switch so easily flipped and then you are so ready to face the world. It is usually much harder than that.

How they both accepted the sexual stuff they did, but it was the worry that the other wouldn't accept their feelings or that their feeling would show seemed a little off, but maybe I just haven't experienced that so I am over analyzing.

I feel like no businessman in the porn industry would make a deal like he did with Griff even if he saw a good person and love and didn't want to jeopardize that. He is after all a businessman and those two made him tons of money.

I was shocked at how much the sex scenes really didn't bother me. I guess after all that LKH ardeur stuff then nothing fazes me with sex scenes in books anymore. Actually the couch sceneS (many more than one) were hawt.

Overall I liked it and the emotions and the feeling like I was in a secret place in Griff's head and he was so introverted and alone and how the only person he could talk to he couldn't. That totally got kind of how I am feeling though my love has passed away and his is alive.

I will look at other peoples comments a little later. just wanted to get that out.

I don't know how many books Damon Suede has planned but Tommy's book is next. It's not supposed to be a very happy book given the statements he's made about it.

Thanks for the info. I guess it's still in the works because there is no preorder details.

Damon Suede is one of the authors in the NOLA August book camp that is overbooked and I can't seem to get into...dang.

Ugh! That's unfair!! I do know booking for those kinds of things are usually at least 6 months in advance. Do they have some kind of wait list you can get on in case of cancellations?

uap--I thought their first time on the couch was one of the...maybe THE best....sex scenes I have ever read. Dante and Griff had both had a lot of sex. I don't think sex, gay or straight, was an issue. It was the feeling that scared them to death. Fear of being rejected or scoffed at by someone you love more than life is....risky. Scary. Almost too much to stand. I got it. Being inside Griff's head was some of the best writing I have ever experienced. Damon Swede got it right. That first time on the couch, Griff claimed Dante....totally claimed him. Everything. Sweet. Sexy. Hot. This was not what I would call a "fun" read. It was tough. And I loved it.

Hard Head is the next book. Still no release date.

I love romance, het or m/m. I stopped reading het romance a few years ago because every book I picked up had some of the nastiest sex! Totally freaked me out. PR, so far, has never gotten that....yucky. I have not yet run into into anything in m/m that yucked me out as badly. Shiver.

Okay. I don't want to. But, I have re-discovered romance. I posted in another thread that I think Ethan Day made me like romance stories again. Storeis where the relationship is the story. heart heart I was actually more concerned about picking up a het romance than the m/m ones. roflmao I find that pretty funny now. But, hey. After reading Josh Lanyon? I am ruined. I love the het rom, but a great m/m rom still works best for me. Ruined!

uap---Shattered Glass.......must read. Zero At The Bone. I don't think you could stand to read Dark Horse which is too damn bad because it is so freaking good....but we all talked about swollen faces and puffy eyes that lasted for two days. You can't read that.

Uapeople , read an Ethan Day book. It'll make you smile! I can't wait to get my hands on one I haven't read. I have a crush on the gay man whom I've never met but he makes me actually LOL while reading his books, I love him!

Zero at the Bone is so good. When are we gonna get more????

Ty and Zane are great. I bet you'd really like them. The first one is Cut & Run by Abigail Roux and M. Urban. These are funny, smexy and suspenseful.

Jake and Adrien heart Adrien English series by Josh Lanyon will forever be a favorite.

These are all amazing!

uap--Josh Lanyon's Adrien...with an e...English series is among my all time favorites. I loved Adrien so much. I wanted him to be MINE! Not lover. He is happily gay. I wanted him to be my kid, my nephew, my friend. Anything. I just fell in love with Adrien. In the process, I fell in love with Josh Lanyon. Any writer who can create a character I want to know personally is worth reading.

I agree with showme. Ethan Day writes the best contemporary romantic comedy you will ever read. If you need a little pick me up, try Sno Ho. One of the funniest things I have ever read. I still smile when I think of Boone and Wade.

The Cut and Run series is awesome. A lot more plot driven. Lots of suspense. And hot....very, very hot.

But don't even think about Dark Horse.

yes, the first claiming by Griffin was so intense and then the fact that Dante is so possessive and jealous is heartwarming.

I will add them all to my every growing list.

I am on the waiting list and there are many many many ahead of me, but I have a family wedding that same weekend so I can't do a last minute booking due to the RSVP for the wedding having to be in. I really want to do the conference...there are masquerade balls and Jeaniene Frost on of my favorite authors who I met before and is awesome and Daryinda Jones. I really hope I can get in but I;m doubtful. I would be good for me to get away and be distracted by books and people I never met before for a few days.

It is almost April. Are we going to vote on the next book club read? Isn't this one supposed to be het? If so...ahem...I want to nominate a romantic comedy. I KNOW...! Most of you don't like them and I will lose. Oh well. Here goes. Divorced, Desperate and Delicious by Christie Craig. This book is so damned funny that I almost peed my panties! And.....and....last time I looked.....it was free on Amazon kindle. Sooooo....of you just HATE it, you won't have a lot invested. Smile

I cannot think of anything to nominate at the moment, but there is no reason to not start nominating books for anyone who's interested.
