20% in to Angel's Blood and I'm completely sucked in.

Wondering why Raphael has hired Elena to hunt Uram, when her talent is sniffing vamps. My theory is that Uram has gone vampy...but not knowing much about vamps in this world yet I can't figure out the hows or whys.

I love the world-building in this book! Vamps made by angels, that's a new one.
And Raphael is one naughty angel, I gotta like that. smile

Elena shot Raphael! Then hung around while he got help. I'm concerned about him too, but geez Elena. Get outta there!

Run, Forrest, Ruuuuun!

"I have not had Elena before"
"And I have not had Raphael"

*sigh*

They about ruined the moment right after that, threatening each other and talking about angelic culture too much! What was up with Elena, it's like she didn't want to admit she was making love to Raphael. Noooo, she was just curious, you know, learning about angels.

I find their little bouts of jealousy over each other funny. She had to wipe off Michaela's dust and he crushed Illium's feather (she had put in her hair) to dust! Oh no, no feelings developing between those two.

I wonder if she is making him mortal with her mental blocking, or if its simply caused by proximity. Whatever the cause, it's not good for Elena to have this ability. (Although maybe it will come in handy with Uram?)
I still think he intends to kill her. Scary arse angel indeed!

I'm barreling through this book! (about 60 percent through). I know I'll want to reread, because the world building is so intricate. I'm probably missing a lot of details. But I can't slow down. Its too good!

oh, and I can't say "Uram" without it sounding like 'urine'. Kinda makes him less scary...

The second book is really good too. I am amazed with Singh's world building. Her Psy/Changeling series is just as good.

I agree, the world-building is excellent. Fascinating and thorough.

I'm also really enjoying Raphael's POV. He's so...different. Even Uram's (urine's-heehee) POV is interesting. I'm impressed with how very different all three POVs are. They have distinctly unique thought processes and personalities, or lack of personality in Uram's case. Excellent character development!

I'll definately be picking up the rest of the Guild Hunters series, and the psy-changeling books too.

Venom is scary as hell!

I love flirty Illium and his gorgeous blue wings! Raphael *should* be jealous of him!

I don't know what to make of Dmitri. I'm right with Elena in wondering about Dmitri's place on Raphael's org chart. Where does he fit into the power structure and why is he so loyal to Raphael?

I've just gotten a brief intro to Jason and his black wings.

I think Elena has a wing fetish. Can't really blame her.

Chocolate cake? who smells like chocolate? He may become my favorite character.

I don't how I missed that!

Dmitri just got even more interesting.

I wonder what's up with that diamond rose. I know Raphael is going to give it to Elena again. Is there something magical about it? Or is it simply symbolic. Hmmmm. (I've got literary ADD with this book - so many little details to drive me batty!)

Yes, a dramatic gesture in the end. Very sweet!

I loved the ending to Angel's Blood. I've seen reviews that criticized it as too abrupt or convenient. But I thought it was like a fairy tale. The girl with the wing-envy got her wings. And true love's kiss. Sigh. Very sweet.

Raphael reminded me some of Trent. It took me a while to figure out whether he was the villain or the romantic hero. I waver back and forth with Trent too.
