Karen Marie Moning (rhymes with 'awning') is the # 1 New York Times bestselling author of 12 novels, including the Rita-award winning Highlander novels and the internationally bestselling urban fantasy Fever series. Her books have been published in 21 languages, and her events draw fans from all over the world.

Fever Series

MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever.

Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister's murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals that have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

What follows is a shocking chain of events with devastating consequences, and now Mac struggles to cope with grief, while continuing her mission to acquire and control the Sinsar Dubh--a book of dark, forbidden magic scribed by the mythical Unseelie King that contains the power to create and destroy worlds.

Series List

1. Darkfever
2. Bloodfever
3. Faefever
4. Dreamfever
5. Shadowfever (final book in this series)

**There will be a spin off series, with at least 3 books, on some of the characters in the original Fever series**

The Fever books are the only time I've enjoyed cliffhangers. Only because I had an online outlet for theorizing and discussing them though. I enjoyed that! Without it the cliffhangers would have driven me mad.

I agree with you. I would have went insane if I would have had to wait a year at a time for each one.

The wait between Faefever and Dreamfever would have been horrible. That book didn't end well.

I got a great gift from my hubby. I seriously didn't think he really listened to me when I told him about books I read.. lol I woke today with a CD of the 2 soundtracks from the fever series.. He went and bought the downloads and got them onto CD for me so i could upload them to my ipod. I have listened to them and they are actually really fantastic.. Although there is a track on there called Mercy with Alina's phone call to Mac. Stupid but it kinda made me sad, like they are real people.. lol

I have them both too - and love them! I do skip the 3 mercy ones, and the semi Irish dirge one where I think Phil Gigante sings along with Neil Dover - there are a couple of tracks that do make me tear up... Nearly Sad

I have got them in my collection as well. Good on your hubby for getting it right Starbrites, I know mine wouldn't lol. Thou I have asked for an ipod for my birthday so I can download the audio books. So I should probably give him the benefit of the doubt.

Well GC I do hope you get that ipod. They are awesome! I was surprised when I had that music to listen too. I am with you Swede I don't care much for the Lucky song or the mercy ones. I did however tear up the first time I listened to Alinas message to mac.. It was a bit different hearing that message then reading it..

Well, this is fantastic.. A friend of my Mom's had came by one day when I was in the middle of reading the Fever Series. She is a big reader. I tried to get her to read the Sookie books but she was not into Vampires. So I told her to give the Fever series a try. I didn't really think she would but she just called me to ask what the name of the second book was and she said she loved the first one. I asked her what she thought about Barrons and she said Man I wish I had a visual.. lol She was beggin to know more about the Death by Sex Fae V'lane but I told her to keep reading the books. I am so glad that I finally was able to get atleast 1 person I know to trust me with a recommendation.. I wish I could get some of my other friends to atleast read a book.. None of them want to even try..

KMM auggested V'Lane could have been Mac's HEA. He raped her. That's a game changer as far as I'm concerned. I can't imagine how that could have been turned arouned to his advantage. Just doesn't work for me. V'Lane lied through all of the books, if he hadn't and hadn't kidnapped the concubine, hadn't raped Mac, the books would have completely different, maybe different outcome. I'm probably over simplifying, but as much as I love V'Lane, just can't imagine he and Mac together. Honestly, that rape just put me off....

I think she means it more that between V'lane, Barrons and even the UK, it's they're decisions that set them on different paths, but if they had made different choices, they each have it in them to be interchangeable. KMM says it better, though smile

I reread the piece by KMM, and you're right. I think I got a little excited and didn't read close enough.

Same here any news at all........I reread Shadowfever and had a weird thought. The next book features Christian, Dani and Ryo........could Ryo be Dani's father? Is that creepy? I understand the 9 got their power during the thunder(electric) storm when they were "killed" and it's not something they had from birth, but because Dani seems to have so many of the characteristics of the 9 I thought that might be an explanation. Perhaps I'm way off base here, and probably am, just some speculation. My predictions were so accurate with Shadowfever, that I'm sure my record will be in tact. BTW, the only thing I got right was that Barrons goes commando. YUM!!!
